Following the closure of its sister venue after a bouncer was accused of rape, Soho's iconic G-A-Y nightclub is up for sale. The owner cited the changing landscape of Soho, as well as financial strain.

Commenters lamented Soho's decline as a late-night destination, noting fewer nightlife options, particularly for LGBTQ+ venues. Others felt that Soho would not be the same.

G-A-Y was a place of discovery for those who chose it as a hangout. For many friendship groups, and indeed solo clubbers, G-A-Y was often the place where adventures started. The happy hours either made you or broke you, and more often than not, alcohol-fuelled chats in the smoking area left you with a host of connections made across social media. Not to mention the photographs with fellow revellers. It is, in its own small way, the end of an era, just another in what Jeremy Joseph referred to as a changing landscape.
